Records and Custody Contacts
Use the agency that holds the record. VMDC is the local detention contact, while the sheriff, municipal police, court, NMCD, BOP, or ICE may control another part of the record path.
- For a booking sheet or possible booking photo, use the county records and IPRA path with the person, agency, and date.
- For a warrant or court-status concern, use Most Wanted Fugitives and contact the issuing court, sheriff, or an attorney.
- For a pending case, use New Mexico Courts Case Lookup and then the court clerk for confirmation.
- For state prison or supervision information, use NMCD’s official search rather than VMDC.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator that matches the custody system.
